AAOPAC

Protecting the future of your specialty.

The AAO Political Action Committee (AAOPAC) was established in 1994 to amplify the voice of the specialty of orthodontics and the profession of dentistry in the federal government. The AAOPAC allows the AAO to solicit funds from our members and, in turn, contributes to candidates whose views are consistent with our goals.

Race to 10: June 5 – December 1

The AAOPAC Race to 10 challenges each Constituent Region to achieve at least 10% member participation in AAOPAC giving. The goal isn’t how much members give, but how many get involved. Every contribution helps advance the specialty and protect patient access to quality care. Progress will be tracked throughout the campaign, with friendly competition, bragging rights, and a traveling trophy awarded to the winning Constituent Region.

The role of the AAOPAC.

As a nonprofit organization, the AAO cannot contribute to the campaigns of candidates. However, the AAOPAC can – which allows us to have tremendous influence on the government. The AAOPAC allows us to pool contributions from members like you, and then make significant contributions to candidates on behalf of the specialty. This approach assures we can have the greatest impact on the issues and candidates that matter most to our specialty.

The AAOPAC also serves to reinforce the goals of the dental profession by supporting candidates to whom other PACs have already contributed the maximum amount allowed by law.
